Sports presenter, fitness queen and busy mum Gabby Logan reveals how she gets the energy to juggle as many plates as she does!
Gabby Logan might just be our fitness idol. The former Welsh international gymnast, 44, somehow manages to fit in a full-on career at the BBC, presenting sports programmes from The Premier League Show to Sports Personality of the Year and the BBC’s Olympic coverage in Rio last year, with being a mum-of-two and keeping that enviable body in check. She looks amazing during our exclusive photoshoot, revealing that her approach to exercise is ‘holistic’. There will be no fad diets come January with this woman: ‘You’ve got to do it for life,’ she explains. ‘I’m not a fan of New Year’s resolutions as, for me, it’s about being consistent and feeling good all the time. It doesn’t suit me to do fads.’
It’s clear that the former athlete – who still trains five times a week despite a very busy working life – puts a lot of effort into her exercise regime. But she also admits that ‘balance is key’ and that she won’t be feeling guilty about eating a few extra mince pies this Christmas – hardly surprising considering the amount of effort she puts into fitness in the first place!
‘Keep your workout fresh’Gabby’s training schedule is a real mix – she admits that no two sessions with her personal trainer Mel Deane, a hardcore former rugby player, are ever the same. ‘He always keeps it fresh. It’s never the same. Yesterday he had me sprinting with a band round my waist for resistance. He throws in things to shock the system. It’s time to change your trainer if things get comfortable!’
