The global estimates of WHO report about 300 million people suffering from depression, with India being the 6th most depressed country in the world. These statistics are certainly not encouraging and urgently signal the indefeasible need of gaining emotional stamina.
Emotional stamina needs to be built through emotional independence. The first reaction to it is that it is easier said than done.
Let me share some real-life incidents that you might relate to. On a particular day, you are busy working, stretching work hours until late evening. You finish the required household chores, wind up the day and finally lie down in bed, with a usual urge to check WhatsApp and emails one last time. And guess what happens? You find an email that kicks you out of bed. It reads that a colleague swept the entire credit of your hard work into his/her kitty. So, you snap back, with a return mail trying to steal back what is lost, marking a copy to all, and hit that 'send' button.
