The Tathastu, a word of Sanskrit origin often heard in mythological series which means to grant a wish, literal meaning “so be it“. This pure concrete and-red brick facade mansion in Nadiad, Gujarat is the family home of Subhash Shah, a civil engineer.

This bungalow screams of a refreshing exterior vibe, while its simplistic facade belies the tastefully-decorated the sprawling house inside. Conceived by Ace Associates this bungalow is an architectural showcase featuring bold dimensions in a humble environment.

The beautiful home is spread over two levels in a serene landscape. A minimalist and uncluttered approach to the design is a fantastic theme spread around 5,378 sq.ft of space. The design concept is a vibrant fusion between contemporary and traditional design culture. The layout of the house seamlessly flows naturally from the public to private areas. All the rooms are very well illuminated with natural light and some incorporating a direct line of sight to the greenery outside. The house is built following Vaastu Shastra – the ancient spatial principles of design and architecture.

Housed in a residential area, the entrance faces the south. Summers can be harsh in this part of the country. To keep the heat at bay using clever design, the architects incorporated a garden area and a veranda between the boundary wall and the living areas of the house.
