Home automation systems may seem costly – but there are a number of cost-effective systems on the market that do the basics well. It’s also possible to create something approaching the effect of a home automation system using a set of connected devices. But does that give you bang for your buck?

COST-EFFECTIVE CONNECTED HOME

Mobile in Africa distributes an array of Xiaomi-connected products, which can be centralized with its Smart Hub or controlled via its Mi Home app.

Some of the devices that can be connected to almost mimic aspects of a home automation system include the Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro, the Mi Motion Sensor (which can detect movement and sound an alarm), Mi Wireless Switch (to control household appliances), Mi Smart Air Fryer and Mi Window and Door Sensor.

“Our Mi Smart Hub allows all your connected smart devices to be controlled from a common touchpoint,” says Sashan Lalbiharry, Mobile in Africa e-commerce manager. “The Smart Hub acts as a central location for the management of your smart devices, providing total control of all connected devices.”
