RIGHT: RLR Architects is an innovative design-oriented practice led by architects Wilko le Roux and Pier-Marie Rossouw. The company has a well-established track record in the commercial, hospitality and residential sectors. Its designs are characterised by an informed simplicity, accomplished through a process of refinement, and rooted in established principles of place-making.
When the owners by chance saw this vacant land advertised in a beautiful suburb of Cape Town, they couldn’t resist, and decided to take the plunge.
“I had always hoped I would get the chance one day to build a property,” says the owner.
The owners were practical in their approach so as not to overcomplicate things. “I love a multitude of styles and colours, yet do not like a smorgasbord look. Considering the budget, we had to be practical in designing a home, not a house, with timeless features and not the latest fashion.”
