Bold reds and eye-catching features are used to achieve a sporty and outstanding effect in this show gallery.

IT’S REFRESHING TO SEE RED TAKING THE LEAD AGAIN AS A STYLING ELEMENT. In this show gallery designed bySQFT Space Design Management, vibrant reds are used to express a “modern sporty” theme for the Platinum Arena development.

At the visitor’s lounge, the environment is kept to a dark palette where grey sofas and the black ceiling create a solid canvas for the Platinum Arena signboard to stand out prominently. From here, more red highlights are implemented, for instance as part of the ceiling detailing as well as the red metal dividers opposite the lounge area.

This approach of using red to accentuate specific areas or features is creatively applied in the show units as well. Take the living room of one of the show units for example. A cosy composition of beige furnishings and neutral-toned interior features offers a pleasing backdrop for the TV feature wall which comprises a custom-made console painted in red. To create a frame-within-a-frame effect, the designer placed the TV against a mirror wall surrounded by a gold frame as well as a red frame on its exterior rim. Next to the living room, a round dining table makes up the minimalist dining area.

The wet and dry kitchen are done up with a sense of continuity to each other. Decked in black and white, the countertop for both of the kitchens align the same wall in a straight line, creating a galley layout. Here, the designer maintained the wall, but opened up the space by installing louvered windows that provide views from either side.
