From a Feng Shui aspect, a ground burial (Yin House) has a direct impact on the descendants of the deceased. To ensure harmony and good tidings for the descendants, the following actions should be avoided.

a) Avoid fencing up the tomb

 Families who prefer privacy may decide to erect a wall or fence around the tomb. Do not do so unless the tomb is located in a big space with acres of land. An enclosed tomb will eventually lead to legal entanglements and prison.

b) Avoid planting flowering plants on top of the burial ground.

Planting a big tree right on top of the burial ground is also a “No-No.”. The roots of the tree can destroy the coffin and the tomb stone and wrap themselves around the remains. Sha Qi arises when the roots of a sturdy tree penetrates into the coffin. As a result, family members may suffer health problems, especially those related to the heart.
