Glaciers are melting faster than ever —in fact, you can even hear them melting, as researchers from the American Geophysical union have used underwater microphones to accrue measurements of the melting process. Yikes.

While some of these impacts are irreversible, not all hope is lost. countries like Sweden are revolutionising how trash can be utilised: close to half of Sweden’s household trash are incinerated in waste-to-energy plants, providing heat to over 1.2 million households and electricity for another 800,000.
