Paradise Found... Again

Martin Compston is making a happy habit of appearing in Celtic Legends’ games and it’s something he’ll never tire of.

Paradise Found... Again

MARTIN Compston is becoming a seasoned campaigner when it comes to Celtic charity matches – but this hasn’t diluted his excitement at being involved in the Henrik’s Heroes v Lubo’s Legends game at the end of the month.

The Line of Duty star will be making his fourth appearance in such an event, which will raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation. As a lifelong supporter of the club, the 32-year-old is always delighted to don the Hoops and lend his support to charitable causes. But this time the Greenock-born actor hopes he will be better equipped to deliver a more polished performance in Paradise...

“This will be my fourth match but my third time at Celtic Park, as I also played in the Jock Stein tribute match at Dunfermline,” he told the View in an exclusive interview. “Luckily enough, a couple of my pals are going to be involved in this one as well and we can’t stop talking about how excited we are.

“The Petrov one is one I will never forget but I was literally just off a plane from Ibiza so I wasn’t in the best of shape and I couldn’t take it in that well. In the Maestrio game, I was trying to get in decent shape and I was feeling pretty good, but I cracked my ribs three weeks before it so I was basically just running about on painkillers to get on.

“My pal and fellow actor, Ross McCall, who is my next-door neighbour in LA, is playing as well so both of us were planning to go out and get a load of games in to equip ourselves so at least we wouldn’t embarrass ourselves. But now it looks as though I will be filming up to the very day and the day after.
