Owner of FairPrice Antique, CHANTAL TRAVERS, gives us the lowdown on renaming the business.
Why have you changed the name?
When I took over the business in 2016, it was never my intention to change the name. It’s been around for over 17 years and has a fantastic reputation, but it became apparent there was some confusion. Some felt it was linked to NTUC, or they expected a dusty old antique shop; and they definitely didn’t think we sold handcrafted northern Chinese furniture!
I realised we needed a name that customers could connect to on an emotional level, and be proud to tell others they had purchased from. It needed to be a name that wasn’t about me as the owner, but rather about the experience and products we sell, and where they come from.
How did you shortlist the entries?
