Having built a fashion empire on elegant and modern evening wear, it was no surprise to see Marchesa become the celebrity go-to when they naturally progressed into bridal gowns years later. Here, the brains behind the brand Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig give us an insight into their wonderful wedding world.

You’ve been working on your fashion powerhouse Marchesa together since 2004, why do you think you work so well together? 

GC: Our specialties in design complement each other quite well, which plays a huge part. My role focuses on conceptualising the collection designs and silhouettes, whereas Keren’s background in textiles translates to all the intricate embroidery. 

KC: While we both play separate roles in the design process, we are very much aligned in design aesthetic. A great part of our success together is also that we are best friends – we understand and support each other in all areas.

You’re both mothers, how do you get the right balance between family life and killing it in your career? 

KC: A lot of careful coordination and scheduling! Georgina and I are so lucky to have incredible support systems, including our Marchesa family – we love bringing our children into the studio when possible, it’s always so much fun.
