It’s a web series directed by Kaizad Gustad and available on SonyLiv. It’s a story of a runaway bride from a Punjabi family who is being forced into marriage. During her getaway, she finds this geek who wears braces, drives a Nano, has five sets of the same clothes and has some of the most random habits, whom she uses to help her out. She finds him extremely weird, but all her norms of the perfect man crash down and she finds love in the form of this awkward character. It’s a really funny story that everyone must watch.

What’s your character in the series?

I play Preeti Tandon. She has her heart in the right place, but her brain is wired differently. She thinks and acts in a manner that is least expected of her. She’s very loud. Even when I am watching Preeti, I have to plug my ears. She’s crazy, but enjoyable. I recently heard a man comment, “This girl reminds me of my wife.” (Haha).

Tell us more about yourself. Where did you grow up? How fun was your childhood?

I’m a small town girl from an academic background. My father is an engineer and mother is a school principal. You can imagine how fun my childhood was. I was moulded to be a perfect child, who’s scholarly and deeply into academics. It was pressurising as I was overloaded with books. I knew that I could be the ideal child that my parents wanted, but when adolescence hit me, my idols and ideas grew far too strong to give in to the pressure. I grew up in Bhilai, moved to Bangalore and then to London to study.
