2018 seemed a pretty quiet year for Sony Cameras, as the Japanese brand only released one interchangeable lens camera, the handy 24MP full-frame a7 III during a year that saw its Japanese rivals Canon, Nikon and Panasonic finally introducing mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with full-frame sensors. This eventually lead to Sony ending the year with a slight drop in the global digital camera market compared to 2017.
