WHY SHE DECIDED TO REACH OUT TO HER BROTHER-IN-LAW

As Prince Harry’s spectacular fallout with his father and brother continues, with a new chapter written seemingly every week, there’s one forgotten victim of their feud – the Duchess of Cambridge.

Before things started going pear-shaped between Harry and the House of Windsor circa 2018, Kate and her brother-in-law were what most royal watchers describe as “very much in cahoots”.

“They could often be seen giggling naughtily together at royal events,” says a palace source. “Harry was grateful to have another person around who could help him make sure Prince William didn’t take things too seriously. Kate and Harry were wonderfully close and it’s such a shame that has fallen by the wayside since Harry and his wife fell out with the family.”

Not that Kate hasn’t tried to mend fences.

The duchess, 40, was seen making a valiant attempt at conversation with Harry, 37, knowing the world’s cameras were on them at Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.
