Charuvi Agrawal shares with Society how her works are an unusual combination of animation and visual arts
A thinker, explorer, painter, sculptor, designer, filmmaker and creator, New Delhi-based Charuvi Agrawal dons many hats and is continually involved in deciphering unique artworks that can be touched or felt through all the five senses.
With a gold medal in fine arts from the Delhi College of Art, followed by a post graduate degree in computer animation from the Sheridan College in Canada, the 33-year-old led her passion and qualification to develop into a full grown profession—handling intellectually and emotionally stimulating projects which are a creative amalgamation of art and technology.
“My fondest memories were as a child when I was totally immersed in creating art. It was in Class 8 when I represented India as a cultural ambassador to Russia. This was followed by appreciations and encouragements that infused the confidence in me to pursue art as a full time career. Even today, be it any movie, short film or documentary, it instantly catches my fancy,” recalls Charuvi, who always wanted to create artworks that transcended boundaries.
Talking about inspiration of being in this unusual field, the artist mentions, “I love being surrounded by chaos and an idiosyncratic environment. My inspiration primarily lies in observing people, surroundings and experiences capsulated in the form of an artistic expression, story or movement. From political statements to history, everything culminates in creations. But most importantly, I keep myself updated with works of artists internationally. In addition, visiting museums and art shows helps in keeping my mind active.”
