When my boyfriend, Tom, and I moved into our rental house a few years ago, we wanted to put our own stamp on the interior design of the property, but didn’t have a huge budget,' says Luba. 'We’re quite creative and love making and upcycling furniture, which came in handy when we decided to redecorate our spare room and turn it into a guest room and study space for us to use during exams.

We had previously made an industrial style table and benches for the dining room downstairs, which kick-started our love for creating our own pieces. When we saw the prices of nice industrial furniture, we thought, “Why don’t we make it ourselves?” Tom is very crafty and great with woodwork, so we were able to create good quality furniture for very little money.
