The new OnePlus device is fast as the last one but packs in a new fingerprint tech.
Given the fact how technology is evolving at a breathtaking pace, smartphone manufacturers have resorted to releasing at least two flagship devices a year. OnePlus has been doing the same for the last three years and while the difference in features between the numbered and the ‘T’ variant have narrowed down, does a new launch equate to better? We find out.
The OnePlus 6 had a premium looking design and the same holds true for the OnePlus 6T. While maintaining a form factor similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 6T brings quite a few new things to the table that one will appreciate.
The big beautiful screen is still what you’ll see on the front but instead of the conventional notch, the new phone features a ‘waterdrop’ notch. The new notch style ensures the OnePlus 6T to have a larger display, giving slightly more real estate to play with but in virtually the same size as the previous OnePlus device. A tiny notch has also pushed the earpiece placement to the edge of the device but in our use, we found it to be a non-issue.
The back boasts a shiny yet smudge-free glass with some protection from water and dust. However, just don’t go swimming because the phone cannot withstand water immersion as the phone does not have an IP rating to protect against such instances.
