Big phones are all the rage, and when they offer this potent blend of quality, power and usability, why wouldn’t you want one?

They Might Be Giants

For years, phones kept getting smaller and smaller. Something like 2002’s Panasonic GD55 – you know, the dinky phone that wasn’t far off the size of a box of matches – looks positively ridiculous now, and even the 3.5-inch touchscreens we once considered to be huge now feel like puny toy screens.

The big phone is definitely king here in 2018, as having such a high level of pixel power in your (slightly baggy) pocket wins out over the convenience of the small phone, regardless of how cute those little ones are.

Naturally, in a larger chassis you get more of everything: more battery, more storage, more cameras, more screen, and each of the phones featured here deliver on those counts. Modern phones don’t want for power, and the beefy processors in these three are capable of handling anything you throw at them.

While a big smartphone may not be suited to all of you - yes, we’re aware of the small-handed, and it would appear that phone manufacturers are too, as you can buy smaller versions of each model featured here - these are the pinnacle of modern phone design, being as much about media consumption and gaming as they are about communication.

If screen size and power are important to you, a big phone is a no brainer. For those of you sitting on the fence, clutching your petite handsets, these three phones might just sway you into buying your first big smartphone.

TEST 01:

DESIGN

Each of these phones needs to look the part in order to get our attention

First of all, let’s talk screens. They’re what you immediately see when you pick up a phone, and everything else seems peripheral to the bit your eyes are glued to.
