I don’t lose my temper very much, but if something winds me up, I’m a real ‘Go to your room’ kind of mom, which is funny, because, when I was growing up, I always thought my mom was too strict!
I think I shocked the hell out of my mother when I left school at 18, went straight to work and started living independently. It was so far from what she would have done that I suppose it seemed quite alien. I was at boarding school from the age of 12 to 18, but I was always very stubborn and opinionated – and I wanted to make my own decisions, without consultation!
