TLR steeps up short-course performance big-time.
When short-course trucks were introduced to the world of hobby-grade RC, they were for bashing around the yard or the local park, rubbing fenders with your buddies, and chasing each other around whatever the terrain had to offer. Short-course trucks soon started showing up on the racetrack, and even though their performance was not as refined as other classes, they were still a blast. Once the short-course class became popular at most tracks, we started seeing race-oriented companies designing trucks with racing in mind. One company that led the charge was TLR with its invention of trucks like the 22SCT. As with other vehicles in the TLR lineup, the SCT has been the recipient of tweaks and is now on 3.0 status. Some of the features that you can look forward to with this truck are a revised motor location, revised suspension geometry, HDS slipper, and other items that improve its tunability and performance. The short-course class is one of my favorites, and I couldn’t wait to get the 22SCT 3.0 built and on the track.
Trimmed Short-Course Body
The body that comes with the 22SCT is clear and requires you to put a little color on it. TLR does, however, take the time to trim the body out to help speed up the building process. The shape of the body gives the truck a great look, and at the same time, it improves performance. The body may come trimmed, but it’s up to you to ream the mounting holes and open up the panels on the back to allow air to flow through to reduce the parachute effect that a short course body has on a chassis.
