As the picks went by in the 2017 NFL Draft, New York Giants fans clamored to know why their team wasn’t filling in their needs on the offensive line.

Their prayers, albeit after a delay, were finally answered on the final day of the draft, with a little help from their “friends” in the AFC South.

With the 200th pick in the NFL Draft, the Giants used a sixth-round slot to take Adam Bisnowaty, an offensive lineman from Pittsburgh. The pick was obtained via a trade with the Tennessee Titans and effectively ended the Giants activity at the 82nd annual draft, held in Philadelphia.

“We felt really good about Adam Bisnowaty and we didn’t want to miss out on him,” Giants Vice President of Player Evaluation Marc Ross said, explaining the trade. “We felt that he was worth packaging those two picks to get.”

The Giants moved up seven spots to select Bisnowaty, swapping sixth round slots with Tennessee, as well as sending over their seventh-round selection (241st overall). It’s the second consecutive season the Giants have sent away their final-round pick, as they exchanged last season’s seventh round selection in a trade with the Steelers the year before.

Bisnowaty is using the Giants efforts as inspiration.
