FHM Magazine South Africa|September 2020
With movie cinemas seemingly closed for a while still, the ultimate movie-going experience might be lost to many. However, with some of the new projectors available on the market today, you can bring the big screen experience right into your home, and watch your favorite films in crystal clear projection. It’s the full one cinema experience without the annoying sticky floors, stale overpriced popcorn and rude fellow patrons. A win-win for everyone.
The Best Projectors ...To Get For Your Home Today!

LG HU85LA CineBeam

The South Korean tech giant has always prided itself on its screen quality and that pride has shifted over to their projectors as well. The Cinebeam is arguably the best projector on the market, featuring an incredible ultra-short throw that allows for a massive display that is merely inches away from the wall. At 2.2 inches away, the projector will deliver a 90-inch screen size, while at 7.2 inches, you’ll get a 120-inch projection. The image quality, much like their televisions, is excellent and incredibly crisp for a projector. The sleek design adds to the overall package and is not an eyesore in one’s living room, many might not even know that the projector is in the room. It is very expensive though, coming in at around $6000, the Cinebeam is one of the more expensive options on the market, but the high price tag does give you the best projector currently out there.

Vava 4K Laser Projector

It’s rare for a crowdfunded device to see the light of day, it’s even rarer for it to give the big tech boys a run for there money. But that’s exactly what the Vava 4K Laser has done. Coming in at $2800, it’s considerably cheaper than the LG Cinebeam yet offers almost all the features the tech giant has. With a sharp 4K picture and impactful HDR, the Vava’s picture quality is top-notch and with its 2500 lumens brightness, it keeps the images looking vibrant. It also comes with built-in smart features, running an older version of Android TV. Although a nice addition, it does feel clunky compared to modern devices. But that is a minor critique as the overall package is fantastic for the price. If you’re a first-time projector buyer, then you can’t go wrong with this crowdfunded piece of tech.
