Before we get into the new record, let's look back at part one of this project - how do you reflect on its release and the fan reaction?
"It was really great. First of all we were trying to make a double record, but obviously we didn't have enough time so we had to separate the dates. It kind of turned out good because releasing the first one and getting the reaction from the fans, that made us focus more on the second one and try to make it greater. I guess it turned out good."
Fans will have heard some of the songs before, but how much of the new material was written in this gap between parts one and two?
"The second album actually has seven songs that we had already released. When we released the first album, we weren't really finished thinking about the second one yet. In fact, we are mastering it right now. But it really stimulated us a lot, releasing the first one and then having a bit of time to figure out what we should do on the second one."
How do you view this project now? Is it still two parts of one whole or is this a sequel of sorts?
"The message holds a lot of things in common between the first one and the second one. To us, separating the release made us think about making it sound a little different. Maybe more aggressive, maybe bigger. We're facing a pretty hard time, the whole wide world, so there was a lot of things we had to think about during the songwriting. I hope what we made can include a bigger message than what we had in the first one."
How was your working process during this difficult time? How did you adapt to being apart as a band?
