Another Boost For India
TIACA’s appointment of Ramesh Mamidala, Chief Executive Officer of Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management to the TIACA Board of Directors along with Sanjeev Gadhia, founder and CEO of Kenya-based Astral Aviation is being viewed as another recognition of India’s growing importance in the world. And Vladimir Zubkov, Secretary General, TIACA mentioned this when he said that TIACA represented the air cargo supply chain globally, and Ramesh Mamidala and Sanjeev Gadhia would help to expand the links with the regions which are fast developing and are very important for the air cargo industry – Asia and Africa.

CRUISING HEIGHTS has been highlighting the speedy growth of the Indian air cargo market and its potential regularly, and met Mamidala recently to find out his course of action as a director in TIACA.

“There is a lot of great work that TIACA has been doing since its inception,” said Mamidala, and that is what has benefitted many countries. “I hope to bring all the good work that would benefit our nation, to several trade bodies and organisations across the nation,” he said and went on to mention that his “immediate focus will be to look for these opportunities and bring them to the country as soon as possible”. Along with that, he would work hard with TIACA to “improve its footprint in India”.
