THE jury wil l continue their deliberations this morning in the case of a Derry man accused of taking part in terrorist activity in Syria.
Eamon Bradley, 28, of the Benview Estate, Coshquin, is charged with receiving terrorist training and possessing explosives in Syria between March 31 and October 29, 2014.
The case, which is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland, is now entering its 12th day.
Judge Brian Sherrard charged the jury of 11 yesterday afternoon and they deliberated for an hour and a half before being released for the day.
In the course of the trial the court heard Bradley admitted in police interview attending a ‘training camp’ in Syria and taking part in ‘three battles’ armed with an ‘AK47, three magazines and a grenade’.
However, he said he never fired any bullets or threw the grenade.
Transcripts of his police interview were read to the jury in which the defendant said he was ‘drawn’ to Syria because of videos he watched on Facebook and that ‘no one was helping them’.
