DAN'S DESPERATE FOR SHUT-OUTS

BRISTOL City keeper Dan Bentley wants “leak proof” Bristol City to prove their defensive mettle against Stoke this afternoon.

The Robins have received plenty of plaudits for their attacking prowess under Dean Holden so far this term, with eight goals plundered in victories over Exeter City, Coventry City, and Northampton Town.

But eliminating the late errors that scuppered last year’s play-off charge - and cost long-serving manager Lee Johnson his job - must be the focus according to Bentley.

Of the 65 goals conceded by City in the 2019-20 campaign, 29 per cent came in the final 14 minutes of matches. In the Championship, only Sheffield Wednesday shipped so many during the same segment.

Indeed, had only goals scored in the second half been taken into account, the Robins would have finished in 20th position, two places above the relegation zone.
