FLYNN'S FUMING AFTER O'S LOSS

MICHAEL FLYNN blasted both his Newport side and referee Tom Nield after seeing his Exiles fall to defeat at Leyton Orient.

The league leaders had gone ahead through Jamie Proctor’s first-half strike, but the game was turned on its head thanks to goals from Danny Johnson and James Brophy.

And that left Flynn angered by both his team’s performance and Nield’s decision making.

“We shot ourselves in the foot because the goals we gave away were really poor,” he said. “Our distribution and choice of pass was poor and they was some really, really poor officiating.”

“I won’t beat myself about it because the players know in the dressing room that it wasn’t good enough and we should have had a point minimum easily.

“Ultimately we lost the game because of poor defending and poor officiating.”

The Exiles started the better and were rewarded for their positive approach when they went in front after 20 minutes.
