Late goal sees off Potters

JUNIOR Stanislas struck late on to give Bourne-mouth a perfect start to the year.

After an entertaining first period the former West Ham winger buried the Cherries’ first and only chance of the second period ten minutes from time.

Stoke went into the game unbeaten in five, with the visitors eyeing a victory to take them within six points of the summit.

And they did just that thanks to Stanislas’ late strike, after both sides had gone close on a number of occasions in the first period.

Sam Surridge turned a low Diego Rico cross wide after five minutes, with Jason Tindall’s Cherries enjoying more possession early on.
