Amnesty slams China’s Muslim torture camps

Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have been detained and many tortured in a “dystopian hellscape,” says a report.

Amnesty International found “interned” Muslims were starved, beaten, and given electric shocks.

Victims report being shackled to chairs for agonizing hours. One man reportedly died in front of cellmates after 72 hours in a “tiger chair”.

Agnes Callamard, Amnesty’s general secretary, said: “The Chinese authorities have created a dystopian hellscape on a staggering scale.”
