Brexit Trade Deal 'A Threat To Stability In Northern Ireland'

DEPUTY Prime Minister Dominic Raab has threatened to tear up part of his boss Boris Johnson's Brexit deal to preserve stability in Northern Ireland.

Fears of political turmoil and even civil unrest are mounting after Sinn Fein won the most seats in the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Sinn Fein's 27-seat triumph means it is entitled to supply a First Minister for the first time.

Michelle O'Neill, Sinn Fein's boss north of the border, needs second-placed party the DUP to put forward a Deputy First Minister to form an executive.

But DUP chief Jeffrey Donaldson has ruled that out unless there are major changes to Northern Ireland's post-Brexit protocol.

If no power-sharing deal is reached in 24 weeks, Northern Ireland must vote again.
