BORIS JOHNSON today came under pressure from senior Tories to stop dodging whether he was at a “bring-your-own-booze party” at No10 when millions of people across Britain were “sacrificing so much” to stick to lockdown laws.
The Prime Minister has refused to answer questions about the gathering in May 2020, stating that top civil servant Sue Gray was investigating allegations about a series of Downing Street parties.
Mr Johnson and his then-fiancée Carrie Symonds were reported to have been at the May 20 gathering, with around 30 to 40 other people in the garden of No10 where sausage rolls, crisps, other picnic food and drinks were reportedly laid out on tables. Health minister Edward Argar, doing the Government’s media round this morning, was asked whether Mr Johnson was at the event, responding repeatedly: “I don’t know”.
