The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) told the Supreme Court on Thursday that it has decided to cancel the pending exams for class 10 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Class 12 students will be evaluated on their performance in the last three school exams.
The results under this special scheme will be declared this month.
They can also appear for the board exam at a later date to improve performance, in case they are not satisfied with the marks given by the board.
The ICSE Board also informed the Supreme Court that it has cancelled its pending Class X and XII board exams unlike CBSE, The Board has decided not to give any option to the students to appear for the exams later.
Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu had conveyed their inability to conduct the board exams, the court was told.
CBSE Class 10 exams, which were to be held only for North-East Delhi students, stand cancelled with no provision for re-examination.
The students will be assessed on basis of performance in last three exams, the board informed the court.
