The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has affirmed that the decision to suspend all inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE is still in effect as part of the precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
In a statement, the GCAA said only passenger flights carrying UAE residents and visitors wishing to return back to their respective home countries have been temporarily allowed after ensuring all relevant precautionary measures required by the Ministry of Health and Prevention have been taken.
His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah not to bury any of the victims of the COVID-19 in Al Saja’a area in Sharjah, and to confirm that none of the victims had been buried in the mentioned area or other areas in Sharjah.
The directives of Sheikh Sultan refute what a tendentious video clip embedding that burial of COVID-19 victims were taking place in the said area.
Emirates Airline said with the start of limited passenger services from Dubai next week, Emirates will bring UAE nationals home for free on all flights. UAE nationals currently stranded overseas can contact their closest UAE embassy for assistance.
