DUBAI
The UAE ranked first across the Middle Eastern nations by Global Sot Power Index in handling of COVID-19 pandemic.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Twitter, “According to a questionnaire for the Global Sot Power Index issued by Brand Finance from Britain that included tens of thousands of people in 105 countries around the world. The UAE ranked first in the Middle East and 14th in the world in the efficiency of dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic…”
The UAE has a net score of +33%. The nation’s efforts, from international aid to vaccine development, have meant the UAE is perceived to have handled the pandemic better than its neighbours.
On the other hand, general public rate New Zealand as nation that has handled pandemic best, with +43% score, while US ranks bottom globally, with -16% score.
On Friday, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) recorded 1,284 new cases of coronavirus.
It also announced 765 recoveries and 1 death in the last 24 hours.
