OPT FOR COMPLEX CARBS
Be wary of the carbohydrates you are having. Food with refined carbs, such as white bread, white rice, pastries and processed snacks, are stripped of essential nutrients and fibre. Patil says, "These foods can lead to the onset of diabetes. Opting for complex carbs such as whole grains can help stabilise blood sugar levels and cut the risk of insulin resistance.
