PARENTS who are banned from publicly speaking about their slain children are being “re-traumatised”, according to Kathleen Chada.

The Carlow woman, whose sons Eoghan and Ruairi were murdered by their father Sanjeev Chada in 2013, said the legal issue had caused untold grief.

The Children’s Act was amended on Friday and a ban on identifying child victims of violent crime was lifted.

But several cases are subject to separate legal orders which prevent parents from speaking freely.
