Cabinet Eases FDI Rules For Single Brand Retail

The Union government on Wednesday said it was taking steps to relax norms for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in several sectors including single brand retail, digital media and manufacturing to boost the fading economy.

Claiming that the last fiscal had witnessed largest FDI inflow, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goel, after a Cabinet meeting, said the FDI regulations had been liberalised and simplified, which would boost employment in the country.
