A COUNCILLOR is calling for ‘zero tolerance’ on fly-tipping and says the authority is investigating piles of waste left in back lanes which could lead to four-figure fines.
Andrea Johnson, Councillor for Compton Ward said she has taken to inspecting back lanes in the Mutley area on a daily basis because fly-tipping has become a “big issue”.
She said the council are now investigating reported rubbish in order to find the owners who dumped it.
Fly-tipping in Mutley has become an increasing problem and in many streets you will come across smashed bottles, mouldy cardboard stamped into the ground and overflowing bins.
