A man took his own life moments after hearing that his ‘soulmate’ had died, inquests have heard.

Inquests into the deaths of two people found dead in Downderry, Torpoint, on June 30, 2021, concluded that both Nicola Jordan and Iain Fotheringham had taken their own lives.

Ms Jordan, 50, had been found in her home by a friend, and, when Mr Fotheringham, 58, was told of the death, he stabbed himself, the inquests concluded.

Both lived separately in Coombe Park Bungalows, Treliddon Lane, Downderry. Andrew Cox, senior coroner for Cornwall, heard evidence and came to the conclusion that there was no third-party involvement or suspicious circumstances around either death, and that the suicides happened in tragic circumstances.
