New Delhi: Chief Justice of India N V Ramana on Sunday said that to earn citizens’ trust and faith, the judiciary must make everyone, including a vast majority of vulnerable population still living outside the justice system, feel assured that it existed for each of them.
At the unveiling of a new mobile application developed by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) intending to reach help to the poor with free legal aid for efficacious access to justice, Justice Ramana said, “If, as an institution, the judiciary wants to garner the faith of the citizens, we have to make everyone feel assured that we exist for them. For the longest time, the vulnerable population has lived outside the system of justice”.
