Mumbai: The state is now richer by 325% more ICU beds and 356% ventilators. From 9,344 ICU beds in 2020, the state’s strength has now touched 39,738. Notably, the count of ventilators has increased from 3,436 to 15,657. Testing labs grew from 104 in June 2020 to 687, a 560% rise.
The number of general beds has jumped from 2.82lakh in June 2020 to nearly 4.4lakh till February 2022. Overall Covid centres have increased from 2,575 during the state of the pandemic to 6,510 till date. The state also has nearly 490 PSA oxygen generation plans and over 130 liquid medical oxygen storage facilities. While a lot of structures were makeshift, equipment bought or donated to these centres were for permanent use.
