New Delhi: India is now administering Covid vaccine doses at the highest rate in the world, the government said, as it pointed to expanding coverage of vaccination with 19 states covering over 90% of adult population with at least first dose and nine states attaining more than 80% coverage of the second dose.
The daily rate of doses administered is 4.8 times the rate of doses administered in the US, whereas it is 12.5 times when compared with the UK, health ministry said.
In December so far, India administered an average of 74.31 lakh doses per day, whereas it is 15.5 lakh in the US and 5.9 lakh in the UK.
