Never would Mohit Avasthi ev-er have imagined that he would get India’s Test No. 3 Cheteshwar Pujara’s wicket for a duck on his first-class debut.

Enjoying a dream start to his Ranji Trophy career for Mumbai, the 29-year-old seamer took four for 56, combining superbly with left-arm spinner Shams Mulani (4-55) to help his team march into a winning position over Saurashtra on Day Three at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.

So excited was Avasthi after trapping Pujara lbw with an incoming ball for a rare zero, that the pacer ran all the way to fine leg to celebrate his scalp, before teammate Sarfaraz Khan reminded him that he was close to the rival dugout!
