Why India needs tech-savvy educators

There are many drivers for catapulting India towards its goal to become a $5 trillion economy and a global powerhouse by 2024-25. Teachers will be at the core of this effort, as they produce trained manpower with the necessary knowledge and skills.

In July 2020, the Union Cabinet approved the National Education Policy (NEP), which has many positive features. It presents an ambitious vision, a great plan and a road map for transforming education. Its successful implementation critically hinges on, among other things, fully trained, highly competent and motivated teachers. By celebrating Teachers’ Day, it is important to remember the role of teachers in nation-building.
