New Delhi: Amid the crypto meltdown, the government is seeking to push for a decision on regulating the volatile instrument during India’s G20 presidency as it is weighing the options to regulate it, top officials said.
While one option is to regulate the instrument, the other is to ban it altogether, as has been suggested by the RBI. But a final call is yet to be taken as regulatory agencies and different wings of government are weighing the best solution, a senior official said after US treasury secretary Janet Yellen called for combined efforts to regulate it.
