COMMON TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY MISTAKES TO AVOID

1. Don’t go out and buy a expensive camera for the sake of it

This is likely the most average mistake of anyone who wants to take their travel photography to the next level. Bigger camera doesn’t always equate to a better picture. And if you want to better your travel photography, phone cameras are amazing these days. It is important to understand what we are saying. DSLRs give fabulous results, but they aren’t always the best options to carry at all places.

Basically, you should never invest in a camera that you are not ready to use all the time. And I mean literally all the time. As soon as you start keeping your camera at home or hotel room, you will start missing the best frames. Mirrorless cameras are the future, being small and light and are tiny and lighter than your DSLRs and still have interchangeable lenses, manual settings, and great image quality. Most cameras these days comes with features like tilting screens and built-in wi-fi which is good to use while travelling.

2. Don’t just go for the cliche shot

Capture one super easy and common “holding the Taj Mahal shot” if you really need and then use the leftover time being more creative! There are ways where you can get images that are different from rest of the photographers. Foremost, don’t get in the spot where everyone is waiting to take their photographs. Rather, search for another place to capture an image and it might be on the top of the hill or opposite to the spot where everyone is.
