Smartphones have once again become monotonous and less exciting to review, thanks to an unprecedented merging of features between sub-brands of the same parent brand. The similarity in UI has become pronounced among OnePlus, Oppo and Realme. The fact that devices with similar specs launch in succession does not help. I took up the OnePlus 10 Pro immediately after the Realme GT 2 Pro, and it felt like déjà vu, and you may feel the same if you ignore the difference in icon sets and hardware-specific menus.
Design & Build Quality
The OnePlus designs have always been simple and classic, rather than bold and flashy, and the 10 Pro is no different. The three large lenses and an LED flash dominate the back, proudly flaunting the Hasselblad logo by the side. The extra-large polished 3D ceramic camera housing has a wrap-around design merging with the aluminium frame. The rest of the surface has a matte finish with micro crystal grains providing an intermittent sandy shimmer. The device is available in Emerald Forest and Volcanic Black finishes. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus cover glass, while a Gorilla Glass 5 panel guards the rear glass surface. The rest of the device mimics the familiar OnePlus design elements. The device conspicuously misses weather sealing, which we feel, should be part of any smartphone in the above-50k segment. The phone measures 163.0 x 73.9 x 8.55 mm and weighs 200.5 g.
