After finishing second on three occasions, Chris Fennell (The Independent Pedaler) finally secured the RTTC National Closed Circuit Championship time trial, while his team-mate Joscelin Lowden won the women’s title at the Thruxton motor racing circuit in Hampshire on Sunday.
Kent-based Fennell claimed silver medals in 2015, 2017 and 2018, and said after this year’s event: “I really wanted this one — I have finished second so many times, so this was one of my main targets this year. It’s just a relief to finally win it after so many close attempts.”
