A Pre-Season With The First Team And International Progress With Ireland Gives Barry Coffey Confidence For The Coming Term
IT’S been a whirlwind summer for young Hoops midfielder, Barry Coffey and the Irishman has savoured every moment of the journey so far. Although he’s looking forward, the 18-year-old has his focus firmly on the moment as he aims to build on the great start to the new season.
After joining the first team on pre-season, Coffey joined up with the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad for the Euros in Armenia. The training camp with the Bhoys readied him for an impressive showing in the tournament as Coffey went on to score the winning goal in Ireland’s 2-1 win over the Czech Republic to propel his side into their first European Championship semi-final in eight years.
His immediate target now is to impress consistently in the Celtic reserve side and take a step closer to realising his dream of playing at Paradise.
