Points Mean Prizes

Scott Bain is delighted to have played his part in Celtic’s title triumph and he’s looking forward to picking up his first league winner’s medal.

Points Mean Prizes

SIGNING for Celtic was more than Scott Bain ever thought would be possible in his career, but becoming a Celt has only encouraged him to set more targets to chase during his time at Paradise.

Having now clinched his first league winner’s medal, the Hoops goalkeeper is determined to add to his collection.

Celtic’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday was a momentous day in Bain’s career as the 27-year-old helped clinch an eighth consecutive league title. The Hoops stopper has been an impressive performer this season, and the win at Pittodire saw his remarkable footballing journey come full circle.

“The Aberdeen game was physically and emotionally draining,” said Bain in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View. “I thought Aberdeen played well in spells, but overall, I thought the scoreline fairly reflected the game.

“When you play against sides like this, particularly away from home, you’re not going to go 90 minutes without your opponents creating chances. You just need to know to be prepared for that, and we were throughout the team. Going forward we were immense, and on the day, it could have been more.

“The feeling in the squad at the moment, is amazing. We put a lot into the game on Saturday. There was a lot of emotion before the game, with Billy McNeill and with Stevie Chalmers both passing away, so we knew there was a lot at stake, but once again, we knew what we had to do. We did that, and now we get a chance to really enjoy it, and the boys absolutely deserve that.
